I had a tiny ammonia reading last night and added a little zeobrite to the filter. Can someone please list the pros and cons of using this stuff?

Hmm, never heard of it before but looked up online. Looks like pool filtration media that improves water clarity by removing suspended particles. May be ok, sounds similar to Seachem purigen. But doesn't look like this will help with the ammonia. Is your tank cycled? If not, you're probably starting one and I'd suggest water changes to keep ammonia levels down (assuming you have fish in there).

I have used zeolite in aquariums with ammonia and it seemed to make a difference with fish perking up / ammonia more in control (in a QT). As the link below mentions, not all zeolite is the same so as mentioned above I'm not sure it will be specifically helping (as opposed to be a good general filter product).

Cons I think are the mucking around recharging or replacing these sorts of ion-exchange resins or minerals. I think good to try / emergencies (still have some API nitra-zorb).
