From what I've read ph doesn't stabilize till after cycling has been completed so testing for ph is unnecessary until after cycling. I say no to the buffer a's well but that's just me.

Do you think i should get a mini overflow box for this tank? Right now I have a Penn plax small world filter in it.

Yeah scratch that idea. Im constantly hearing simpler settle are better for dwarves so I'll just stay with absolute filter. And what exactly is a sump? Never used one but I have pretty good idea of what they are.

Extra water volume for the tank, an area to hide your equipment like your skimmer, ATO, and the like. If you go to the refugium route most people keep a macroalgae for nutrient export like nitrates and phosphates, on a tank this small though it'd be more work than its worth IMO. A good PWC schedule is all you'll need

Once again, today everything is still at 0. Shrimp hasn't disintegrated yet. The water is crystal clear. Just the quality isn't too greAt.

Lookin good, what kind of lights are you running right now?

simple 32 watt. came with the tank a while ago. I want to keep the light low, dwarf seahorses spend a lot of time hitching onto objects for long periods of times, so if I had powerful lights, algae would surely grow on them.

Ammonia is still at 0
Nitrite. 0
Nitrate 0
I stopped taking the pH because since I'm cycling the numbers are all over the place.

No.thought I should have added that. Its that cocktail type shrimp. I hear you can still use it to cycle, it will just take a little longer to disintegrate. So how long do you think it'll take?
