Diatom are a brown dust like algae derived from silicates. Common in new set ups. Will typically go away on there own. But are unsightly to most people. In rare cases they can hinder plant growth.

Keep eye out may get lucky and have some free snails with your plants. Pond and rams love diatoms. Mts would help stir the sand.

Ahh I see.

What are ponds and rams?

Would you happen to know a good light timer for aquasky fluval? The fluval one got bad reviews.

[emoji222] 's grow on you, we started trying to get rid of them, and now we're breeding them. Lol [emoji38]

Still looks cloudy. Is it picture? Ditch the bubblers when you go co2.

Yeah I think so. Its pretty clear. Ah i see.
I got the co2 kit, i just have to set it up and buy a co2 diffuser

Diffusers all work same. Some little better. Youll just have to play with placement. I wouldn't spend alot on a diffuser. Can also try your hob and a chop stick. Chopstick often works well with diy.

Cant remember if it was Fresh2o or Bert but one of them has a good recipe.

Depends if the recipe is for yeast+sugar or citric acid (i did the former).
You could get away with bubbling the CO2 directly into the HOB filter intake.
I would raise the water level as well.

Ah I see. Any particular reason why you chose citric acid?
