First of all welcome to Aquarium Advice. :mrgreen: Is your platy a Red Wagtail Platy? If it is, your platy might be getting to its maximum life expectancy. The average lifespan is only like 3-4years. If it isn't this, it'll probably be your water parameters. Please post so we can help :wink:

how high is your nitrates in your tank? This sounds like bullying in the tank. Have you notice the danio to be seperated in the tank? A good resolution to bullying is to bring it out to another tank for a while.

Water change monthly is too risky especially for new tanks. I suggest 10% each week or so.

Has you're tank been cycled before? I think that you have another mini-cycle happening. Because you have high ammonia levels yet you already have nitrate levels. Keep changing water 10% to control the ammonia levels.

Air pumps are a must if you don't have a heavily planted tanks. You need oxygen in the water

Yes you need one. Nitrates level beyond 40ppm would be lethal to fish. Also i think that the main reason the guppy was dead because due to breeding so much to get a fancy guppy, it would easily die from slight problems.

The best possible way is to have another tank. But if you want a cheaper way, get a tank divider and divide the tank before the female gives birth.

Have you got an aquarium near by? Not a fish shop but an actual aquarium that doesn't sell fish, just for display. I think they'll happily take the 20 or so fish off your hands

The green one is usually the temperature, the brownish one is one above the temperature and blue is one below the temperature. Its not as accurate but much more easier to read

Maybe its a parasite infection?

You shouldn't worry too much, unless you don't like them there. Then you should do some water changes
