Well I've read that you shouldn't feed freshwater feeders but do you know why it's not recommended? By the way I have a Carpet and a Ritteri Sent from my XT1254 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

The common name is Cuckoo Squeaker. It's name comes from the Cuckoo bird because of the similarities in breeding habits. The catfish is usually housed with Cichlids and will often breed when the Cichlids breed. It'll wait until a female Cichlid lays her eggs and then go and lay it's eggs there...

I would for sure retest the nitrates, read the instructions carefully with that test because it's easy to get an of reading. Shake the first bottle really well, put in your drops (its 10 I think) then shake the second bottle really well for a good 30 seconds, add the required number of drops...
