It's been a week since I've used it and my tank still has ammonia, no nitrites or nitrates.

Is there someone take to weaken the flow? I don't want to use an hob filter on my planted tank since it outgases the Co2 everytime the water evaporates under the output.

I think I will be going with the rings unless it costs a lot more. I have one more question, is an Eheim 2215 overkill on a 10 gallon?

How big are these ceramic rings? If I use floss and a sponge it doesn't seem like it would take up much space. Would I be using ceramic rings for the rest of the filter?

I was wondering what people put in them as filter media? There's floss and carbon, but since I don't want to constantly change out the carbon should I just use more floss or should I use a different media?

I decided to give Bio-Spira a try. I'm going to substitute ammonia for the angelfish though.

I'm thinking about using Bio-Spira to cycle my 46 Gallon. Do you think it's a good idea? I'm thinking about housing a group of angelfish (Quarter to Silver Dollar size) in it. If you have had an experience with it please share whether it worked or not.

You should also watch the angels. They might nip at the BGK. If you angels are a pair they may get really aggressive toward I. I heard you can tame them to eat from you hand.

If you like a more whitish color go with 10000k, but if you like a more yellowish color then go with 6500k.

If you get things set up tell me how things go. I've been planning a 20g L, but wasn't sure about going with 65w or 130w.

Have you added anything to your tank recently? If you haven't added anything check your tap water if you use it do to water changes. Co2 normally lowers ph so I doubt it's the co2. Without Co2, what is your ph?

Is your Co2 DIY? If it is, did you just recently add it? Try checking your PH. It might be fluctuating and stressing out your fish. I've had BBA outbreaks in my tank and it didn't kill any of my fish.
