    Ich Medication for Loaches...

I turned the heat up to 87, and I have aeration, but I lost two healthy Bronze Cories that I have had for 4 years. I don't see spots on any of the fish yet, but some of them are scratching themselves on the gravel/rocks. I would like to get rid of this mess before it gets too much further along!

    Moving to Larger Aquarium

I had a 75 gallon tank set up a couple of years ago, but had to move. (new job, new house, new town, etc.) I put my fish into a 10 gallon tank in the new place until I had time to set up the 75 gal. (I had 3 cories, 2 yo-yo loaches, 1 CAE and 3 danios) I finally got a chance to set up my big...

    Skinny Clown Loaches

Does anyone know what causes Clown Loaches to get skinny and waste away? I had some a few years ago, and they just slowly withered away, despite eating normally.

    Strange Thing in My Tank

I guess I will get an algae eater. The stuff is on my rocks and my artificial plants too.

    Strange Thing in My Tank

I think it is brown algae. How do you get rid of it??

    Getting a new ram today...[update: I think I have a problem]

I have a ram in with my angelfish, and the angel does aggrevate the ram if he gets too close. The funny thing is that I also have a couple of little clown loaches (about 2" or so) and one of the loaches aggrevates the angelfish, by following it around all the time and nipping at its trailing...

    Moving with tanks

At the bottom of a 75 gallon tank (20" deep) there is a pressure of about 0.72 pounds per square inch pushing down on the bottom, and out on the sides. This doesn't sound like much, but when you figure that the area of the bottom glass is 864 square inches, the pressure on the bottom of the...

    Cories and Oxygenated Water

I just added an airstone to the tank. As of yet, everyone is just looking at the bubbles. The Yo-Yo's are a little skittish since the bubbles were turned on, but hopefully they will soon get used to them.

    Filter and fish questions

Placing the diffuser in the filter will accomplish the same thing as turning the diffuser off.

    I think i got eggs...

I don't have any snails, but if I ever get them, is this the best way to control the population?

    Cories and Oxygenated Water

I have read that cories in a 75 gal tank need additional aeration. What is the preferred method of accomplishing this, an airstone or a powerhead?

    Tankmates for angelfish

Are there any smaller, not-so-stange-looking algae eaters that will work in this tank??

    My Fish are Squabbling

The Angel is about 3 inches long and the Danios are 1-1/2 to 2 inches long. I don't think it could actually swallow one of them, but it is pestering them a bit. It does appear to be slacking off a bit, for now. I am hoping he (or she) is just freaking out because of the new tank and tank mates.

    My Fish are Squabbling

I moved my fish over to my 75 gal tank, and added 5 new Zebra Danios. The Danios are not bothering the Angelfish...but the Angelfish is chasing after the Danios! I put the school of Danios in the tank to soothe my loaches, but they are running for their lives, so I wouldn't think that would...

    Water Test Kits

Hi, I bought a freshwater test kit the other day without paying attention. It has tests for pH (hi and lo), gH, Ammonia, Nitrite, but no test for nitrate. I am getting ready to go pick up a new kit, and am wondering which kit everyone considers to be the best.

    Tankmates for angelfish

I was hoping it would be ok! I will have to go back to town this weekend and pick a pair up. The rocks have caves in them that I set up for my loaches. There is a cave on each end of the tank, and also places to hide in the plants behind the rocks. Next question: What size should I get...

    Tankmates for angelfish

I went into town to look for some Rummynose, Harlequins or Zebra Danios but came home empty handed. All I found were the Danios at PetCo, and they looked pretty rough. I asked the person at the counter at a small, privately owned fish store, and they will try to get some Rummynose and Danios...

    Tankmates for angelfish

Thanks for the compliment rubysoho! I just got finished setting it up and added water last night, so I haven't introduced my fish to their new home yet. I will let the filter run for a couple more days then add some Bio-Spira and put them in. I will look at the LFS to see if they have some...
