I turned the heat up to 87, and I have aeration, but I lost two healthy Bronze Cories that I have had for 4 years. I don't see spots on any of the fish yet, but some of them are scratching themselves on the gravel/rocks. I would like to get rid of this mess before it gets too much further along!

Can you use Coppersafe with Clown Loaches and Yo-Yo Loaches?

Does anyone know what causes Clown Loaches to get skinny and waste away? I had some a few years ago, and they just slowly withered away, despite eating normally.

I guess I will get an algae eater. The stuff is on my rocks and my artificial plants too.

I think it is brown algae. How do you get rid of it??

I have a ram in with my angelfish, and the angel does aggrevate the ram if he gets too close. The funny thing is that I also have a couple of little clown loaches (about 2" or so) and one of the loaches aggrevates the angelfish, by following it around all the time and nipping at its trailing...

I just added an airstone to the tank. As of yet, everyone is just looking at the bubbles. The Yo-Yo's are a little skittish since the bubbles were turned on, but hopefully they will soon get used to them.

Placing the diffuser in the filter will accomplish the same thing as turning the diffuser off.

I don't have any snails, but if I ever get them, is this the best way to control the population?

I have read that cories in a 75 gal tank need additional aeration. What is the preferred method of accomplishing this, an airstone or a powerhead?

The Angel is about 3 inches long and the Danios are 1-1/2 to 2 inches long. I don't think it could actually swallow one of them, but it is pestering them a bit. It does appear to be slacking off a bit, for now. I am hoping he (or she) is just freaking out because of the new tank and tank mates.

Hi, I bought a freshwater test kit the other day without paying attention. It has tests for pH (hi and lo), gH, Ammonia, Nitrite, but no test for nitrate. I am getting ready to go pick up a new kit, and am wondering which kit everyone considers to be the best.

I was hoping it would be ok! I will have to go back to town this weekend and pick a pair up. The rocks have caves in them that I set up for my loaches. There is a cave on each end of the tank, and also places to hide in the plants behind the rocks. Next question: What size should I get...

I went into town to look for some Rummynose, Harlequins or Zebra Danios but came home empty handed. All I found were the Danios at PetCo, and they looked pretty rough. I asked the person at the counter at a small, privately owned fish store, and they will try to get some Rummynose and Danios...
