Rhino said:So I have found some good deals on skimmers. Both are HOB models: Aqua C or CPR? I can pay $40 for the CPR or $50 for the Aqua C. Which is better?

Ph: 7.8
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 1
Nitrate: 160
Alk: 8

Calcium: 440
Rhino said:Also, is it normal to not have diatoms during the cycle. Every tank build I have ever watched they went through a diatom bloom. Is it because I cycled with pure ammonia instead of the dead shrimp?
