Can I do a couple in this small of a tank or do I need to have a much larger one so that I can have a large group to ease aggression?

It's not recommended for Mbuna or other larger cichlids. Shell dwellers would be a better choice. However, I have a 37 gallon with ten Mbuna. It's doing well so far, but I'm sure the future holds trouble. It's up to you IMO. It's just a lot to handle!
