If I were setting this up for a business, and was only planning to do maintenance once a month, the first thing I would do is understock. So I would limit it to two to three species only and I would start out with a good ratio of males to females. If I were setting it up from the juvenile stage, I'd get about a dozen juveniles of each type and either weed extra males out or let nature take its course. I'd set it up with natural brown gravel as a substrate, put as much rock into as I possibly could; building lots of nooks and crevices for the fish to hideout/escape to, and I'd over filter it big time. I also wouldn't use any light except a normal t8 strip light.
