Considering cichlids

I currently have a freshwater community tank and I have been playing with the idea of getting a cichlid tank. I have a 36 bowfront laying around right now. I have my eye on yellow labs. I need to know if this is a suitable size tank? If it is how many could I put in the tank? I just want to say thanks in advance for all of the advice!

You could Do a small group of yellow labs in your tank I would suggest 1 male to 5 or 6 females.Would be a great tank

Well that sounds pretty good to me. I did not think I would be able to do that many.

As a species only tank, that will likely workout fine. I'd max out at 1:3 just due to the footprint of that tank.
