Fishless cycle. Ammonia too high?

What would you all say is the most ammonia that should be in a tank that wouldn't kill the bacteria? Or is there even a limit?
 
Most people try to dose up to 4 but you shouldn't have a problem unless it gets to like 6-8ppm at that point I would do a %50 pwc but only if it ever gets that high.
 
I think 5-6ppm is about the limit before ammonia is in a sufficient quantity to start acting as a disinfectant & will kill off your good bacteria. :)
