I have a crap load of algae in my tank. Its the bright green fimly/ felt like kind. What's the best method to remove this n keep it out??

I'm dealing with the same thing. From what I've read so far, I think the two takeaways I have is to decrease the time my lights are on and do more water changes.

I scrape it off with a mag cleaner or aquarium scrub brush and be sure your not overfeeding, that can lead to more algae too.

ya what craig said :) scrub it off your rocks with a brush or even tooth brush, use algae scraper or magnetic cleaner scraper for your glass. (although I finally had to break my 75 g down and scrape the glass with an edge) also like he said the lighting. If your using the lights with the blue in it for plants it will help algae grow like crazy. the lights should be on about 8 hours or so for your viewing pleasure but not left on all the time. make sure you dont have an abundant source of window light shining in directly on the tank too.

then maybe add some zebra snails that dont over breed in your freshwater tanks and likes to eat a little algae.

ensure you are keeping a good PWC schedule.

thats all I got for ya :)
