Help! Yesterday one of my panda's died and now today another died. I looked a bit closer at the panda and he seemed fine to me, but somethings going on here. All my water parameters are great, but they keep dying.

Here are some pictures of the panda that recently died. It seemed that all of them were eating, because a lot of food would be on the floor and they would all search through it all even after some other fish may have gotten to it and spread it around even more. My substrate is sand.

The following factors could vary: 1) The store that you got them from might not of had the best stock, 2) Depends on how you acclimated them, 3) following up with number 2, pandas are sensitive and acclimation and fine parameters are the key to keeping these.

What are you parameters exactly?

So if you're talking about the parameters of water they would be:

Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 5ppm
GH - 107ppm
KH - about 71 or 4dkh
PH - 7.4

It would be weird if these were new fish. I'd say they were in the tank for about a month and now 2 out of 4 die. . . I also have a danio that doesn't look so well. He seems to be unbalanced, but I'm reallly hoping he just ate too much or something and is constipated or something. But I did move the danio into a QT tank and put in a few medications for him.

The only thing I can think of right now is that I'm trying to lower my GH slowly by using RO/DI water with tap water mix. But I started at about 143ppm GH and now i'm at about 107ppm GH but this was done over the past 3 weeks. (Try to soften the water a little bit to about 70 for tetra's)
If this was the problem is it that lowering the GH from 143 to 107 is too fast over a 3 week time? And no there was no big drop off.

Thanks for the help.

I honestly don't know about your cories. I'll tag along for the info on then though. I'm getting some in a few months.

Can you post pics of the danio? That might help us with him.

Damon Salvatore is awesome. Enough said.

tonight one of my peppered cory isn't using one of his fins. I took him out after i saw him swimming in the middle of the tank and saw that he has a white patch next to his right side fin. It looks pretty bad and I'm pretty sad about it. He went into the qt tank and I put in everything I could think of. As a precaution I also added pimafix/melafix, and tetracycline from a.p.i to the main tank just to be safe.

I've been trying to take a picture of him but my camera can't get a clear shot of him, but this is the best i could do.
