Is this right?

I ordered a bunch of Anacharis from eBay and received it today. I've planted each individual strand about an inch apart from the next, there's 5 strands and 3 floating strands. Is this right? I think it is but I just wanted to check. I'll be getting some Water Wisteria in the next few days, so how do I plant that?
