it looks exactly like mine, but a bit smaller. they really are a good looking fish. mine has a blue and red dorsal fin with orange spots, and the anal fin is black with a redish orange outline to it, with orange egg spots. the pictures dont really show the fishes color too. mine has an awesome blue tint to his body, and cheek bone. i wish i had a better camera, so i could take some decent pictures lol.

Here are some of mine:

Mixing can be done, it just has to be done With the right mix of species. I have both in my display tank, and it looks good. But it depends greatly on the personality of each fish. It pushes the boundaries and opens new doors in fish keeping IMO.

I feed various foods with both varieties in mind. Flake, pellets, frozen , live foods. Veg etc . Like i said if done correctly, it can work. And I must be doing something right as both seem healthy, happy and breed in the tank.

I wouldn't say it's easy and you have to be mindful of their needs. But you can balance diets and aggression with the right fish.

I sure I'm not the only person on here that has successfully mixes cichlids?

Maybe start a thread and see what other people say?
Good luck

Yah, mines been with Africans it's whole life. I just feed it flake food and frozen. I don't have enough money to get live food every couple days.

Guess I'll put this thread back on topic then...
