Any thoughts on my tank or any suggestions for some new tankmates? I was thinking of adding a few more tiger barbs, buenos aires tetras?? I was looking for something towards the top swimmers.

Has your 55 gallon tank been set up for a while? We have just recently set up our 55 gallon and added quite a few fish very quickly. All of our fish are small for the time being but we're not sure if we may run into any issues (ex. ammonia, nitrite, etc.). Any advice you may be able to give would help us feel a little more confident about our setup.

Our fish:
1 Betta
6 Neon tetras
2 Bala Sharks
3 Dwarf guoramis
4 Comet Goldfish
1 Angelfish
1 Silver Dollar
1 Black ghost knife

Thanks for any help you can give!

Since you asked here it is.
The Baka sharks need a school of 4-6 and at least a 150 gallon tank. The goldfish have very high bioloads so you should look into that. The BGK will eventually need to be rehomed because he will get to about 18". Not trying to be mean in any sort of way. Just trying to help.

Agreed!!

Can't speak for the BGK ... The Balas and comets will outgrow a 55gal. Comets actually belong more in a pond and the Balas in a 125gal.
