So if you had a perfect stock of the more common New Worlds that aren't rams, what would it be? I'm just looking for an idea on how to stock it. Trying to get a few different ideas so I can picture it in my head and decide.

Cupid cichlids are cool

Went to petsmart and this is what they have.

I haven't been by LFS because they're 30 minutes away.

Forget pet smart, forget anything that has a glowing sign above the entrance. There are a hundred options at the tip of your fingers. Order from a breeder/hobbyist. Great stock, good weather for shipping.

I just don't have the money for $30 shipping on top of the fish prices and I would have to drive atleast 2 hours in either way to find one. I'm between Dallas Houston San Antonio

Nice Cupid. Never seen any of those sold here. I agree Petsmart & Petco are dead zones. I've
got to admit that when I go into those stores, I got to check out the tanks. Every once in a while they do have an unexpected find. This is my Petsmart, Red Texas Cichlid. I couldn't help myself. It's a sickness!

Do you get to Austin at all? Aquatek usually has tons of new world cichlids.

I do go to Austin on occasion. Most of the places down there have had terrible customer service with people that sound like they hate their jobs. I'm in temple so Austin isn't too far.

What would be a good mixture of Johanni, acei, and YL?

Called my LFS and they have Johanni, acei, and YL. I'm just gonna start with one of each and think about going from there. Better to have room for more fish than no more room

Or will that cause too much aggression? Only having 1 of each

Like Mbuna are more likely to fight amongst themselves rather than with a different species of Mbuna. Especially if you select 2 like males.
