Thanks guys. Todd did you start a thread yet? Huma it is actually a white cheek tang. Very closely related to the powder brown though . Thanks .

The downside of owning a puffer . He just spit all that water on the wall behind the tank .

They do but not often. The first year and a half I had him I saw him do it a maybe 10 times but it has probably been a bit over a year since I have seen him puff up .

Oh, the kids will live that too...not sure the wife and I will. Hopefully the glass top along the rear half will stop some of that. :)

I did start a thread in the FOWLR section.

So while at the lfs last week buying fish food I decide to check out the fish. They had 3 Niger triggers that are about 3/4 inch . After much internal debating ( had a bad experience with a pinktail attacking chop) I decided I had to have one. I figure since it is so small I would have a much greater chance of it growing up to be a well behaved citizen of the tank . I moved Slagathor from the 40 into the 20 and dropped the 40 to hypo.( still need to go down a bit more) The trigger hid for few hours yesterday but has adjusted quite well to hypo and is already chowing down on nls pellets. Going to try to get some pics today but it is still very camera shy . Thanks

Well no pics. He has been hiding all day coming out only to eat. Is that pretty normal for them to be shy at first?

Thanks red. Well here is a video of him. Sorry the quality is very craptastic. He is in the 40 while the angler has been moved into the 20 until i can figure out what is wrong with him .

Well things seem to be progressing well. When I checked on the trigger last night I found him sleeping and iched up . After work today it seems to be 99% cleared up . I have often wondered if the hypo qt was unnecessary but this proves once again it is the right thing to do.

Exactly . He could have never shown any signs under normal qt but it would have still been there waiting . Out of the 6 fish I quarantined this way only one didn't have ich. The odds are definitely not in the hobbiests favor .

Nice video/fish Mike!

I remember mine I had way back when in 2011! I purchased him very small and had him in a 55g for a while (I purchased him way before 2011, when I didn't know very much about appropriate stocking). They are definitely beautiful fish!

Thanks red. Never knew you had one before . He is still pretty scared of me but he seems to be coming around .

the last several days it seems as though mine is trying his best to rejoin the general population. wahtever happened to him had him hiding for weeks.
