I found this skimmer for 40 is it worth it. Not urw of manufacture. And comments?

It looks like a bargain to me, though I don't think it's big enough for your 75 gallon.

That's a sca skimmer. It's either a 301 or 303. You can look it up and compare dimensions.

Did smell research it is the sca 301 only rated for 65gal won't work for me. Thanks for the help

Try the sca 302 or 303. My lfs has a 302 on his 90 and it does work.

All protein skimmers are built about the same anymore. Everyone is copying off of each other. The trouble is, their tank size ratings are not accurate. The most important part of a skimmer is the pump- air draw mainly. The more air it pulls, the more efficient your skimmer will be. For a 75 with sump I would like to see a 700lph-1000lph air draw.
If they don't list the air draw, chances are it isn't the skimmers' strong point.

The sca 303 uses an atman 2500 that lists 600-650 air draw which isn't horrible. The sca 302 uses at atman 302 which put out 450 lph. Its basically a bubble magnus knock off which is a swc knockoff. It uses an older atman pump which uses twice the amount of energy but for 160 bucks it's not a bad deal. For 700-1000 air draw your looking at a significant price jump. The only skimmer at a decent price I can think of off the top of my head is the super reef octopus
