As you may have seen I recently finished my first planted tank, a 20 Long.

Here is what I am thinking:

  • 3 Anomolachromis thomasi
  • 2-3 Fancy Plecos (L002, L204, L080, L288, or L136b) OR 1 L200
  • 30+ Red Cherry Shrimp or 30+ Tiger Shrimp
I plan on trying to breed all of them in one tank if possible.

Things I DONT want:
  • Schooling fish
  • Bn Plecos
Not because I dont like them I already have a schooling tank.

dwarf gourami
smaller cichlids (german blue rams, kribensis, keyhole etc..)
mollies and swordtails

Wait what? Is what I put impossible? I definately dont want any GBRs since they are hard to take care of.

whoops, I misread your question.

3 fancy plecos is too much for a 20 gallon, it can barely fit one (unless it was a bristlenose)

its probably ok to have 30 shrimp. Although... why would you need that many? shrimp are small, but they have territories and need their individual space too
15 would suffice.

Idk I usually see them sold in groups of thirty.

So one of those Plecos would work? Do people just breed them in 20s and move them into larger tanks? Is an L200 too big for a 20?

Sorry for all the questions!

Aqadvisor does not have many of the plecos as well :(
