Well I have one right now I got her from walmart not knowing her needs I know stupid but I went to petsmart and thought a 45 gallon would be good I only was thinking to get 4 more to make 5 cichlids.

Ya I have 15 of those in a 45g

you can put a bunch in a 45 if you pick the smaller kinds and have a good filter and do weekly water changes

Do they get along well in ur 40? I just don't want aggression at all...
