i really appreciate all the good advice i received in setting up my new 10 gal and new 55 gal. did a fishless cycle on both and went perfectly. i have fish in the 10 and will be getting fish for 55 this weekend. i had fw tanks in my teenage years but family and jobs took up next 30 years. i am now introducing my 4 young grandchildren to aquariums. my 10 gal is set up with all the sponge bob characters. the grandchildren think its is the neatest thing. thanx again for the good advice. i feel like mts is on the horizon.
