What kind of thermometer are you using?

Been extra busy lately. The little guy is now about 2". He was 7/8" when I got him. He eats lots of ghost shrimp and damsels. Still have the Chromis... Can't get him convinced on frozen food yet.

I am not running a skimmer on this tank. Though since I've added a few damsels for color and meals, I have stepped up my PWC's to 8 gal / week. Though it wasn't necessary.

I recently, last week, upgraded the lights to RapidLed's retrofit. The lights are great, but it didn't help as much with the heat as I'd hoped. My tank runs, with no powerhead at 90.1 - 91 degrees. So far no losses because of it, oh well, maybe the urchin - only made it two weeks... Ate like a pig though.

With the LED's I'm down to 85... Far from good, but I swear everything is growing like mad, especially the macro algae in the display.

I so do not want to buy a chiller, but alas, I have run out of options I think.

Digital kitchen probe thermometer. I don't trust glass floaters.

I have my bio cube almost cycled it is the 29 gallon like you have I can't wait to start stocking it

He is gorgeous! And so are the corals in there. The zoas caught my eye.

Been trying to decide what coral to put on the sandbed in the middle of the tank, been looking around for a nice fungia or other plates, checked out favias, and brains galore.

I finally saw something unique, so I grabbed it. Called a King Midas Brain. It's yellow thorns surrounding a bluish center mouth. Really nice coral, but it's got a long stalk do it sticks up a bit more than I'd like above the sand.

Still thinking about adding a rock nem or a plate too. I'm looking for yellow zoos and a sun coral for inside the cave. Add a few small acans and palys and I'm set.

I also did something terrible again. I decided to just see what putting an MP-10 in the tank would be like... It's going to stay, so I need to order another for the 54 tank know :/

Glad to hear the little angler is still doing good tim and the tank looks great ... I am saving for the last few odd and ends I need so my angler reef can finally happen. Hope it looks as good as yours does when it's finished.

Haha I put an mp10 on mine as well but it blows my sand around if I have it up to high.... I got my first coral for mine today will get pics up soon

Cool brain!!! How's the 54 doin? Haven't seen an update in a while. I have a 54 corner too, so I was following along. Having some trate and Cyano issues, but otherwise my reef is doing great.

The 54 is good. My "problem" is that my corals are outgrowing the tank. Elegance is like 8.5-10" when open, plate is 18" across, birdsnest is size of 1/2 volleyball and hammer is now like 15 heads... Hard to keep other corals from shadowing.

Got my 1st of three tubestrea sun corals - already fed it half a cube if mysis. It was really cool. The plan is to glue the other two upside down in the cave.

Looks awesome! Have you thought of fragging that monstrous montipora and frogspawn in your 54g and putting it in your 29? It'd look sweet.

No signs of fragging yet - going for a cleaner look in the 29 so plates are out. The other biggie I have is a sour-apple birdsnest which may certainly make an appearance.
