What kind of cichlids are the 4-5" ones? Cichlid is a broad term.

You could add a cat fish or two, ones that don't grow large to help clean up after the oscars. If you can get large (4-5 in) Pictus cats, 2-3 in the tank could work, as long as your Oscars don't see them as a meal.
You could do maybe 2 of the larger Birchers instead.
