So...I knew this would happen. Wanted to get back into cichlids again after a 35 year hiatus and had an old 30 long just waiting for some guests to make it home. After a month cycle.....parameters perfect, and a small stock list.......and after stocking and enjoying them for three months...I want a bigger tank. Found a 55 long on sale with everything, ready to go but it seems to have a "cheesy" filter. (Top Fin). I think I should probably upgrade to a better "brand" , more powerful and efficient HOB filter. Any thoughts on this all you experts out there ! Thinking of 6 assorted Malawi's (maybe more)a placo and possibly a syndontis cat ! Suggestions please !
