What are my cichlids doing? + ate an ant

I'm new to cichlids, We found a really cool one at Wal-mart and its digging with its tail and moving sand from the corner with its mouth it has a very deep hole now!!! GRRR

Also I had an ant crawl up the tank and fall in....... one of the cichlids munched it down beofre i could get it out, hopfully it wont hurt my fish looked like this > then

lol I found it very funny, almost has a 5 inch deap hole !!

i have lot's of rock thay have all the gravel pulled out . big hole's under the rock's lot;s of tunnels through them
