Another good beginner book is The New Marine Aquarium: a step by step setup & stocking guide. It is shorter and IMO easier to read. author - Michael Paletta

Reef Invertebrates by Calfo and Fenner and Aquarium Corals by Eric Borneman are also great books if you're more advanced.
