I try to stay away from stuff like that..The less stuff you introduce thats not natural to what is found in the ocean the better. IMHO.

To my knowledge it will only help with a tank that is cloudy to to particulate matter and will do nothing to help with rd slime algae.
For red slime algae, you need to increase nutrient export (water changes, vacuuming your sand bed or cc if not a DSB, increase or start protien skimming), decrease nutrient import (feed less, use RO/DI water for top off and water changes) and increase water flow.
