Sorry to say but this is correct. They are over marketed lights that make some misleading claims such as reef capable. When they first came out i bought one to test and they failed in every category. Except for low light corals.

These fixtures get HOT, also in the one week i had the fixture 6 of the bulbs stopped working before i took it back for a refund. marineland is known for cheap and over marketed equipment. Some of their stuff is useful but a large portion is second hand stuff pretty much.
