Does anyone have any experience with the above fish? There is a very nice one at a store that is about an hour away. I am finding conflicting information, as usual, as regards to their temperament and reef suitability.

Looking for opinions here.

IMO, they are suitable for a reef tank, provided you are willing to give them a meaty diet and you accept that you might lose a shrimp or two, if you have them. They are members of the grouper family (or it might be snapper), therefore are considered predators, although they do not get as large as other members of the same family. They are a shy fish and will spend most of the day hiding in your rock work.
