I'm looking into getting a fractometer. Would it be a good idea to get one? If so, what's the best one I can buy?

A refractometer is "must have" if you want an accurate reading of your salinity. You should also get calibration fluid for it so you can be sure it is always as accurate as possible.

So I just bought one! My hydrometer was reading around 1.026. The refractometer read 1.016. I'm glad I went out n got one. I bought a cleaner shrimp a couple of week ago n it died in a couple days. Think that could've been the reason why?

Ya. Crustaceans need 1.023-1.025.
