2nd tank start up.

I bought a new tank 20g tank and a fluval u2 filter. This tank will be used for pregnant fish and as a hospital tank when needed.

I just have a question about cycling it. Can i run the new filter in my already established tank without effecting my tanks readings. When i remove the new filter will it cause a mini cycle or anything.

Im thinking about just doing a fishless cycle in new tank just to be safe. But anybody have a better suggestion for cycling it. Thanks

Yeah, running the 2nd filter shouldn't be a problem. I do this with all of my tanks actually-I run sponge filters that can be transfered to another tank for instant cycling when necessary.
