5-6 years but they can live longer in ideal conditions

I've got 2 left from a pack of 8 long fins. ( had an ich breakout while I was in Spain for 2 weeks and the person I left in charge of my tank new nothing about the disease, a lesson learned). These 2 seem tough though not only did they survive they are in with some tough fish and it doesn't seem to bother them at all. Mine are 2 inches ( max size)

2 inches is the max size? I thought they grow bigger than that. That's good to know. I have 5

Well I have 1 left out of my group, he or she is a bit over 2 inches

2 inches is the norm...Females will usually be larger than males.

yes i think mine is a female now that i look at "her"

Yeah, females are just a little beefier. Most tetras can be sexed that way.

I'de say "she" is pretty hefty and a little larger then 2 inches so I'm assuming female
