Some room should be opening up in my tank and I'd like advice for a good "show" fish. It's 29 gal and my water is hard with a pH of 7.8. This fish would be living with 10 black tetras and a dwarf gourami, so I'd like it to be bottom to mid level swimmer.

Thanks in advance for your help!

A Bolivian Ram or two would make a good centerpiece in a 29g. Also, you may want to look into rehoming just a couple of those tetras - when fully grown, they are pretty big and 10 of them in a 29g could get crowded. It may not be an issue now, but it very well could be down the road. You wouldn't have to remove all of them, taking out only 2 or 3 would make things a bit more comfortable.
