Has anyone ever had a problem keeping them together? I have about 5 convicts, and 1 small (2 1/2 inch) pelco in my 29 gal tank. I woke up this morning and saw he was all tore apart, it's really bad, but he is still alive. The only other fish I have in the tank are 5 black fin tetras and I'm sure they didn't do that to the pleco.

Has anyone else had problems?

Not only didn't your tetras do that to the pleco, but they will also be killed by the convicts eventually. Convicts are aggressive and territoreal. They aren't to be trusted with fish that can't fend for themselves.

with 5 convicts in a 29g, I would suggest less light and more cleaning. There isn't enough space in a 29G for all five cons. Maybe when they are only one inch long, but when they get bigger and start to breed. ouch!!!
