Quick question - I often see that corys need to be kept in groups of 6 for them to be in an ideal environment. I'm in the process of stocking my newly cycled 55 gal. I started with 2 angels and 2 peppered corys. I'd rather stick with 4 corys and not 6, will that be okay or is 6 really necessary?

yeah, ive only got 5... they'll be fine. depends on who you ask... some say 4+ some say 6+.. just stick with 4 for now, then add a couple more if you want later

I like to keep my cory cats with 6 or more and i tell people that they do better usually the larger the group. But the thing is that as long as you have 4 IMO they will be fine. The more the better but 4 is fine.

4 will be fine. I started with 3 peppers, ended up with 7 (8? I lose count) after fry hatched, added 2 sterbais which keep to themselves quite happily. Just don't keep one by itself.
