Feeding small gar

Curious if anyone has a good food option for newly acquired spotted gar. They're small now well under 3". Currently have them in a 5gallon refugium til they beef up a bit. I have a culture of bloodworms going outside but not sure if they'd prefer something that swims around. Any help would be great

How about trying wingless fruit flies? And most meat eating fish like live Brine shrimp.

Yeah I've got three females and one new male. Do I have to wait a month for fry or will they eventually take down the juveniles I already have? I'm also culturing some fairy shrimp and triops that should hatch in a couple days. Threw 3 apisto fry in yesterday and haven't seen them since. I've also got krib fry but they're tiny - just hatched yesterday. I kno as adults gar don't need to eat every day but I've had them less than a week and just want to get it right. They seem content anyway

gars if it fits in there mouth they eat it. also there teeth are made for tearing.
