so today I fished out a bunch of mosquito larvae and some pink worms from a bucket of water I've had in the back yard for a bit, I know mosquito larvae is safe but are the worms?

The only way to answer that question is to say "probably okay". As long as the insects are small enough, easily digestible, and harvested in a pesticide/weed killer free zone. I catch grasshoppers, crickets, catapillers and worms almost daily and feed them to my fish and tree frogs. Note: frogs are in wife's terrarium. I live in the country. No shortage of bugs.
