my 20g long betta planted project

first container is Pontus - male HMMGRT betta
plants - banana plant

second container is Spot - male CT betta
plants - CRYPT - wenditii red/green and lucens

third is Giyo - male CT betta
plants - amazon sword, micro sword

fourth is Crius - male double tail betta
plants - bolbitus, java moss, water sprite

this is an over head shot of the tank

that is a mixture of rotala and moneywort

my fixture:

30inch coralife T5NO w/ two 6700k 18watt bulbs

also if you can see, all four bettas are in the top just "chillin like a villian", so happy they are doing that in the stems ^_^

the two rescue containers are in the front, i dont have any where else to put them, i might buy a critter keeper, but this is fine for now until i can rehome them

so you think i can grow plants in the containers in the front of the tank!! i plan to put either one java fern or one anubias plant in both containers

the bigger container is in a constant 80* and the rescued betta is Bacardi, he is a male double tail that i rescued when i was in a bar watching the knicks play and i saw him in a bacardi gold bottle, asked the manager if i can buy him and he said yes lol, dont have a pic of him, but you can see him near the heater ( thats the container i took him home in )

the smaller is around 75* and the rescued betta in their is Alpheus, i found him when i was dropping my 7 year old sister to school and he was in a container in the front desk and their was a sign saying *take if you want* so i did, had him for about a month now

i do multiple water changes for them per day, i just take some of the 20g water and switch them out and put some prime

the messy stuff in the right container are just some leaves that i need to clean off when i get home later

Hey that's so cool..I was just thinking how awesome it would be to divide a 20 long up for some bettas What kind of dividers are you using and how long have you been using them?

i have had this tank since beginning of march, the dividers are from petland discount 15-20g dividers ^_^ they were 12$ each

Do they flare at eachother a lot and seem stressed?

I mean I'm assuming they aren't or you wouldn't keep them that way LOL I'm just wondering how to make this work. I've always been against the males seeing eachother.

at first when they didn't have anything to cover the see through dividers, yes... but since I have added the floating plants, hardly at all, they really just hang around and chill at the top, no flaring what so ever

okay some updates, i moved Pontus to my 2.5g all purpose betta compartment/QT, Bacardi moved into his condo until Pontus is fully healed up, Pontus has been fin nipping and i want him in a smaller compartment so he doesnt have to use a lot of energy to get air, it has a fully cycled 5g filter and is heated

now for some pics!!!

and some new additions i bought, i bought a total of six otos, the reason is because i had a huge diatom outbreak and i wanted to get rid of it, i could barely see into both the middle compartments BECAUSE IT WAS THAT BAD!!! of course when i added to Spots compartment the first three otos he went after them like they were candy, but after 5-10mins he chilled out, now he doesnt even care >_> but for Spot, he accepted them right away, he never had a problem with them, i was more worred about Giyo since he was bigger, but it was the total opposite of Spot

heres one of six that i managed to get a pic of

one of the crypts that i fell in love with were Lucens, and this plant is so amazing, it melted after two days and now after a month new leaves sprouted and they look so stunning, i plan to get more ^_^

looks awesome!! great looking bettas.... poor Pontus!!!! he had some of the best looking fins ever...the yellow is just gorgeous. hopefully he'll have a quick recovery plants look great

thanks mommytron!!! trying my best to complete my first tank!!! remember when i first got here LOL!!! all my plans for my 20g high, all the decisions i wanted to make, i did what i sought out to do!!! make my betta the centerpiece of my tank and i am finally doing it ^_^ only took a year haha
