I've been toying around with this idea for a long time, and honestly was slightly embarrassed to ask since I didn't want to feel like a newbie, but oh well.
In my 30g tank, I have a stock list as follows:
3-mollys
6-guppies
3-platys
1-blue gourami.
I'm interested in adding a school of cherry barbs (prev wanted corys but scratched the idea), but I honestly feel like the tank might be overstocked as it is. I've got a pair of airstones (for max surface irritation and a 50g filter on the tank now, and parameters are in check, with weekly 5-7g water changes weekly.
Am I overstocked?
Are there any other schooling fish I could consider? Cherry barbs were the only schooling fish I could find that might tolerate my slightly basic water (8.4).
Any help highly appreciated.
