My aquarium journey has been far more complex than I expected. I now have a fluval vista 23 that is moderately-heavily planted and decorated with driftwood.

Current residents are:
1 bn pleco
6 panda corries
7 diamond tetras
3 female betta

Most things regarding this tank didn't go exactly as planned and the inhabitants aren't quite as peaceful as I'd planned either. The diamonds were a little feisty at first and that's why I went with the Betta to add color to the tank.

The tank still isn't quite as colorful as I'd initially planned.

Do you think there's anything that would fit in terms of space and temperament?

I initially wanted a school of Cardinal tetras but I was worried they'd be stressed.

Now that the tank is settled down I wonder if that or something else could work, or if I should leave well enough alone.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

A school of cardinal tetras looks amazing against a planted background. If your water parameters will support them, IMO you should go for it. I'd love to have cardinals in my community tank, but my water is far too hard and alkaline, so I have neons instead.
