Why I do not recommend swordtails for small tanks.

This is why a tank under 20 gallons should (IMO) only be used for fry/growout. We picked these up today at an auction. :brows:

Fish about 3"... Swords an extra 1-2"
 
Also active swimmers, and plenty of bulk to boot. I cringe a little bit every time I hear that a shop recommended these or mollies for the person's 5 or 10 gallon tank.
 
So these were the guys you were talking about in the chat earlier :) cool looking big fish
