Snails question

One of my Apple snails have been coming out above the water line a lot and I know that is what they normally do but not mine, and there is only one that comes out and she comes out at about 10:00 every night. So I was wondering if she is looking for a place to lay her eggs. Then I thought that she is the biggest in the tank so my question is would these two be able to breed?
The female is the black and the male is the small golden.

Snails normally come out at night more

Yes I know but she is the only one that comes out of the water. The other ones just slime around on the bottom and on the sides of the glass.

One of my snail's always go for a walk above the water line he has since I got him. Don't know if maybe he's eating the bio film on the glass? He usually doesn't stay out long before heading back down.
