media for my hob filter

I'm running an Aqueon 30 on my 20 gallon set up, mostly for more flow. I have a bag of activated charcoal in it. What is a good media to put in it or should I just leave it empty

From what I've heard the best is to load it with love rock rubble. It'll reduce the buildup of nitrates unlike floss or any other media you put in it.

+1. Also put a light over it and grow some chaeto.
