New 5 gallon guppie tank help!

Hi guys. I have recently upgraded my guppy fry from a 1.5 gallon tank to a 5 gallon, as recommended by everyone.
I purchased an Aqua Culture kit, which came with a Whisper Micro Filter. I've set it up and cycled it. I was wondering if you guys recommend anything else I should purchase for my tank.
Is an air pump required as well? not sure if this filter does the trick or not.
As far as plants, I love a heavy planted tank with real plants, how much is too much?
I'm also afraid my fry might get sucked up, their about 2 months old. Should I wait to move them a little longer?

How many guppies do you have?

The filter should be fine, really no reason to add an air pump.

I buy these to protect fry from the filter intake. If you're handy you could probably make something.

Guppies really like plants. I'd do some floating stems and anubias in the nana variety.
