Anemone sick?

Well, I went away for the weekend and I came back,opened up the lid on my tank and I saw my anemone stuck up in the filtering system....we got him out,put him down on the sand and he looked very ill! Today I checked on him again and he is perfect.but for the past couple of weeks(before I saw him stuck up there) he was hiding with not much light and he was very thin...like I said he is fine now but is/was he sick??? I'm worried about him...
