So I just picked up a 3" Maroon clown from someone with a very dirty tank. It was too aggressive for them. The tank has an aiptasia problem but no other diseases.

I get him home in a qt with brand new everything and he is very sluggish, not his aggressive sepf and hanging out in a top, back, corner, vertical (head up). He's barely swimming and floating right beneath the surface.

No signs of disease on him. Other than not eating, he looks completely healthy.

Thoughts? Stress? Thanks.

It was set in the water for several hours.

Could be the sudden change of water quality . how long did you drip acclimate
going from dirty to clean water to fast was a big shock for the poor guy
thinking about it living in a dirty tank not knowing what toxins were present could be the reason he was so aggressive . hope you can bring him back to good health .

Actually, I didn't acclimate to water quality, only temp. But that makes sense... I noticed that he was a little more active this afternoon, hopefully I saved the guy.
