Unwell red jewel

Can anybody help. This is my friends jewel that's looking very strange. I wondered if anybody could help with a diagnosis. Thanks in advance

What is the water parameters?
Here is some info:
Fish Profile for Jewel Cichlid, African Jewelfish, Blue Jewel, Red Jewel, Red Jewel Cichlid (Hemichromis bimaculatus)
If you think it's discoloration, i would suggest feeding bloodworms, if it doesn't come back, it's probably something else.
