durso standpipe?

anyone ever have a problem with the durso style standpipe slowing down flow?? when i take the last elbow off the durso it flows fine but with that last elbow pointing down in the water its very very slow. ive experimented with many many different holes all the way up to having a huge slot nothing seems to help. thanks.

I've never used one myself, but I seem to remember something about someone having a similar issue and using a small piece of airline tubing through the vent hole down into the pipe some. Having an actual syphon will help increase the flow and they may have used the tubing to help create the syphon... not sure if that's right though.
